Today 9/3/04 through 9/6/04

A quick recap of the long holiday weekend…

Friday

The three Henry’s (not to be confused with The Three Tenors) went to the Saints/Dolphins game while the Renee and Emily had a “Girls Night”.

Please let it be known that the first “boo” was recorded with 7:08 remaining in the first quater. The crowd is already in mid-season form.

Saturday

The family went eat at Applebees for lunch before Renee had to go to work.

After lunch, I brought Emily to buy new school shoes. Her school’s idea of fashion and Emily’s does not agree. Emily will not be allowed to wear her famous white high-heeled flip flops. I think that she’ll correct them on their oversight. My money is on her.

After shopping, we retired to my mom and dad’s house so that the kids could partake in the HOT TUB. Actually, Emily says that its HER hot tub. Emily is a very kind and generous person to let my parents have it at their house.

My Dad made me build stuff.

Sunday

Another trip to the HOT TUB while Renee was working.

More construction at the parents’ house.

Went home and watched the LSU (BOO!) and Tulane (YEAH!) football games on TV. LSU proved lucky once again. How can a kicker make a 44 yard field goal and miss three extra points?????

I smell payoff.

Monday

Back to the HOT TUB (see a pattern?). Followed by a rousing game of home run derby with Doodle.

Damn, the kids were tired and cranky.

Went back home and Emily fell asleep within five minutes.

Renee came home from work and I paid bills.

I also attempted to re-claim the songs that I deleted from my iPod. I don’t know how I did it. 5GB of information, poof. Prayers or sacrifices would be appreciated.

Hornet Pride!!!!!!

In other New Orleans’ sports news……

Just in time for the sale of season tickets, Baron Davis (otherwise known as the Hornets best player) has indicated that he wants out.

All I can say to new Head Coach Byron Scott is welcome to New Orleans. I hope that you enjoy the food.

Hurry, go buy your season tickets.

Hurricane?!?

Being the wonderful organization that they are, the Saints have decided to help out the Dolphins for tonights preseason football game.

Have they cancelled the game out of respect for the families? Have they donated a portion of the proceeds to charity?

No. They moved the start time up by a half hour. That’s right, thirty minutes.

That goes to show you what a class organization they are.

God-like

From BBC:

  • Do we over hype our sport stars?

  • Kelly Holmes has kept hopes of an Olympic medal double alive after easing into the semi-finals of the women’s 1500m on Tuesday night.

She claimed Britain’s first track gold of the Games in the 800m on Monday.

Holmes has said she will focus on the 1500m but plans to pretend she never won gold when she is back at the start line because, as she said: “I’ve got my dream – I have got my gold medal and no-one can take that away from me.”

Speaking to the BBC on Monday Paula Radcliffe said she had “let everyone down” after her bid for Olympic marathon gold ended in tears.

Of course we do. Any celebrity (in the public’s eye) can walk on water.

    Duh.

    Pass the pipe

Well, it looks like Ricky Williams did teach a few things to other Saints players during his short time in New Orleans.

Coach Jim Haslett said in the offseason that this year would strictly football – no card games and loud music in the locker room, etc. I guess he didn’t list everything that was off limits.

This is the second player that will miss time this year due to drugs.
