We (Renee’ & me) were talking about kidneys, Doodle piped in with the following:
“Kidneys, is that when you have too many kids?”
Huh????!!!!?????
Doodle received his progress report today for the third quarter.
Math – 100A
Reading – 99A
Language – 100A
Science – S
Social Studies – S
He was also was tested for reading using the STAR Reading computer-adaptive reading test.
Please keep in mind that he is only in first grade.
Grade Equivalent (GE) – 4.2 He’s only in first grade
Percentile Rank (PR) – 99 Top 1% in the country.
Instructional Reading Level (IRL) – 3.9 This means that he is at least 80% proficient at reading third grade words and books. Almost fourth grade, cool.
Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) – 3.2 to 4.5 The reading level from which he should be selecting books for optimal growth in reading.
Getting back to his progress report, I think that he really needs to pick up that Reading score.
Really, 99A – there is room for improvement.
